Getting started ### **Registering your teacher account** Your school will have been sent a registration link to get teachers onboard. We recommend teachers register using their Google or Microsoft accounts. {% hint style="info" %} In Scribo, a community refers to a school. Each community is ring-fenced and completely secure and private to the teachers and students who are registered in the school. {% endhint %} Once a teacher account is registered, teachers can login to Scribo at [app.scribolearning.com](https://app.scribolearning.com) using Google or Microsoft single sign-on, by clicking the respective 'Sign in with ..' button. If you haven’t received a confirmation that your teacher email address has access to Scribo * Contact your school’s Scribo Community Administrator; or * Email us at ### **Setting up your classes and students** Before you begin creating activities in Scribo, you’ll need to set up your classes and add your students. This ensures all work, feedback, and progress are properly organised, so you can track learning over time. \ \ There are a number ways to onboard your students and classes to Scribo and keep them in sync as students move around. Which one you choose depends on the systems you have available to manage your students, teachers and classes.\ ​\ If you use Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams, you can sync your classes into Scribo. When you sync, we will create the class in Scribo if it doesn't exist already, and bring your students into Scribo so that they can login. \ \ Alternatively, you can share a class key and let students self-enrol. If you prefer more control, you can manually create your classes and add students one by one, or use a CSV file to bulk import classes, students, and teachers all at once.\ \ **Please refer to this article for onboarding instructions.**\ \ [Onboarding classes and students](https://intercom.help/scribo/en/articles/12748884-adding-students-and-classes-to-your-scribo-community) ### Creating a writing activity With your class set up and student accounts loaded in the class, the next step is to create writing activities to engage your students in writing. This is where you define the writing prompt, how students interact with Scribo, and the level of support they receive along the way. In Scribo, you can customise the student experience and control the levels of support and interaction delivered along each writing journey. Each writing activity can interact very differently.\ \ You can attach supporting scaffolds, writing plans, grading criteria, and rubrics to align with your teaching objectives. Setting this up ensures students are guided throughout the writing process and receive structured, consistent feedback. Once student writing is in motion, you can monitor all progress and access data insights to guide your teaching. \|
